1. Two separate things

This policy covers two things that are easy to confuse:

  • This website (simplyprintsync.com), a static information site that we operate.
  • The Shopify2SimplyPrint app, open source software that you download and run on your own infrastructure. We do not operate it and have no access to it.

2. The app: we receive nothing

Shopify2SimplyPrint is self-hosted. When you deploy it, it runs in your own Cloudflare account, stores its data in your own Cloudflare D1 database, and talks directly to your Shopify store and your SimplyPrint account.

No data is sent to us at any point. There is no shared backend, no telemetry, no analytics inside the app, and no account with us. We could not access your store data even if we wanted to.

Data the app stores in your own database, under your control, includes your Shopify domain and access token, your SimplyPrint API key (encrypted at rest with a key you generate), product mappings, print queue history and sync logs. Because you host it, you are the data controller for all of it, including any obligations you have to your own customers.

You can verify all of this: the complete source is published on GitHub under the GPLv3.

3. This website

This site is static. It does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. It has no login and no contact form.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server request data such as IP address, browser user agent and requested page, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. This is ordinary web server logging, described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

4. Links to other services

This site links to GitHub, Cloudflare, Shopify and SimplyPrint. Once you follow those links you are on their platforms, subject to their own privacy policies. We have no control over, and no visibility into, what they collect.

5. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you beyond the server logs described above, there is in practice nothing for us to export, correct or delete. If you believe we do hold data about you, contact us and we will look into it.

If you run the app yourself and one of your customers exercises their GDPR rights, that request is yours to handle: the data lives in your Cloudflare account. The app includes the Shopify GDPR compliance webhooks to help with this.

6. The previous hosted service

Shopify2SimplyPrint was previously offered as a hosted, paid Shopify app called SimplyPrintSync. That service processed merchant and order data, and used third parties for billing and email delivery. It has been discontinued and that processing has stopped.

If you were a customer of that service and have questions about your data, including deletion, email [email protected].

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.

8. Contact

For questions about this policy, email [email protected].

For anything about the software itself, including bugs and feature requests, please use GitHub issues, so that other people running it benefit from the answer.
